HOW ARE A GROUP OF TWENTY-SOMETHING YEAR OLD MEN SO DARN CUTE XDDDDD I particularly loved when Ryo suddenly started laughing in the middle of Tegoshi's prank (his smile is gorgeous!) && when Tegoshi was all "Shige talks too much!" and Shige went, "Tegoshi. I know Tegoshi is beside me" XDDDD SHIGE!!! He looked rly hot in this clip, as usual. He has great teeth XD and that scene with Tegoshi was so mafia. Oh Tegoshi looked rly cute there too did I mention XDDD When he giggled after being caught by Shige.

I wish the other members talked more though :((

I was all, YAY FINALLY ANOTHER NEWS SINGLE!!!111one XDDD but the song was just...eh. For one thing, it does nothing for the members' vocals. I mean, hello, here's a group with Tegoshi Yuya, Masuda Takahisa AND Nishikido Ryo. They've got awesome voices, and the other three have started sounding really good as well.

I'm really disappointed with this song, especially after the Color album which I liked a lot.

AND ALSO, WHY IS IT THAT GROUPS LIKE ARASHI & KAT-TUN GET NEW SINGLES WITH DRAMAS BUT NEWS IS RELEGATED TO ALL THE CF SONGS????????? D:

UCHI ON SHOUNEN CLUB TODAY.

DID ANYBODY WATCH THAT???? I get SC on cable tv so I watch it just for the sake of seeing the JE boys on a big high-def screen, but cuz it's not subbed and I'm not too into the jrs, I usually watch something else and flip back to check SC every few minutes. So, tonight, I'm doing that, right, and I see this guy in red singing with Question? the mike's blocking his face so I don't recognise him at once, and at first I think it's just somebody from Question? so I switch channels again, then I'm like WAITAMINUTE!!!! -switch back, stare at screen intensely for 30seconds- DUUUUUDE IS THAT UCHI?!

HE GAINED WEIGHT XDDDD

He was a surprise guest so I hung around to watch him get interviewed at that little corner but Koyama didn't spazz out like I hoped he would :( no emotional sobfest, not even a hug. *severe disappointment* I guess the agency told them not to mention Uchi's suspension or anything?

ANYWAYS. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for news of Uchi and NEWS and Kanjani8 now :DDDD

I was just about to give up on my job hunt when I found 2. Now, suddenly, my entire month has filled up! I'm gg to be a busy busy bee. bzz.

Starting monday I'll be helping out at my uncle's company, packing goody bags for CNY. After that's over, in feb, I'll be doing admin work at a tuition centre. I'll probably have to teach a few classes here and there too. I wanted to spend my holiday doing something more awesome but, oh well. There isn't rly anything awesome to do in my part of the world. And I don't know about you guys, but tuition is a huge thing in my country. Probably right up there on the most profitable businesses list or something. If such a list exists. You get my point.

In between these two jobs, I'll be flying over to China with my mum to visit my bro. He works there and I haven't seen him in months, so I'm pretty excited. :D

Yepp, so, um, I probably won't be around much for a while. Which might be good since I think I've been around too much recently? lol.

After months of hanging around fandom and feeling very guilty/useless about being unable to contribute anything other than a few shitty fics I decided to try translating this video! Because I understand the Chinese subtitles. :)

TRANSLATING IS HARD. >_< I don't know if I'm going to translate again cuz I might be more of a hindrance than a help. I'm sure some meanings were lost in the translation from Japanese to Chinese by the Taiwanese TV station, then I mangled everything terribly with my translation to English. Lol. Sorry.

ANYWAY. I'm very new to translations; before this video I might've translated a few conversations or articles randomly for relatives/friends, so I didn't know whether to follow the original as closely as possible or to translate it as I interpreted it. The result is a horrendous mish-mash of both (via rather long translator's notes. which I hope will not break up the flow of the interview too much. Ok. Who am I kidding. They will break up the flow of the interview, but I felt it necessary to clarify some stuff, so I hope you won't get too irritated.) BUT STILL I HOPE THIS IS ENOUGH TO LET YOU GET THE GIST OF THE INTERVIEW? :D?

Hi I know I'm late, but I hope everybody had a good Christmas :) I don't actually celebrate it, but I was very busy anyways. I love the festive atmosphere! But frankly in Singapore, my fave holiday is the Chinese New Year - the festive spirit then is rly unbeatable and infectious. To me, it feels like the whole of Singapore comes alive with the red and gold decorations, loud and lively music, the colourful processions and travelling trucks of lion dance troupes, and the incredible smell of food everywhere. Maybe it's due to the Chinese majority population in Singapore, or just the fact that CNY is by nature a livelier and more boisterous event than Christmas. I know that CNY takes place at the end of Winter in China, but here I associate it with heat. Singapore is hot all year round of course, but somehow I find it even hotter and sunnier during CNY, and yet the heat seems to complement the festivity perfectly. You guys should come down here for CNY some time. :)

...OK, excuse the unplanned rambling about CNY, lol.

Have you watched the 14 dec SC episode? Specifically this medley with Maruyama (Kanjani8), Koyama (NEWS) and Nakamaru (KAT-TUN). I bet most of you have, but I'm gonna embed it here anyway, and you can watch it again, because it is awesome. Okay? Okay. :D



Nakamaru's "ladies and gentlemen, it's my beatbox, bass, cooperation" at the beginning cracked me up XDD

The bass is one of my fave instruments in a band! I'm the type who listens for the bass first thing in a song, and switches on bass booster on all my music players. Yet I seem to keep having to defend my love for this instrument against ppl who dismiss it cos bassists usually just play the "same few notes" in a song. You show them, Maru >:(

All 3 of these guys don't get paid as much attention as the other singers in their respective bands (except maybe Nakamaru cos he beatboxes) so I'm thrilled that they got this chance to showcase their abilities like that with the stage to themselves. :) Also I love Koyama, yes ♥♥♥

...Actually, just watch the whole episode XD The nekketsu jr league segment is hilarious! They play musical chairs and have to dance along to the songs that are playing XDDDD need I say more? Ok, I will. At the end of the 2nd round, Tsukada Ryoichi(A.B.C.-Z) wins by shoving the other 2 contestants off the stool with his BUTT. Everybody laughs and exclaims over how amazing that is (..I think?) and Koyama imitates him XDDDDD and Koyama's introduction of the jrs at the beginning of the segment is so cute, his voice changes XD

Also cos I have not yet gotten over the awesomeness of the PACIFIC Tokyo Dome concert DVD, especially that first performance of Kibou~Yell~ where they look awesome in their Change The World costumes and there are the most gorgeous close-ups of all the members in general and Koyama/Shige/Ryo in particular ♥♥♥♥♥ this wonderful performance is, for some reason, not posted up anywhere. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. I mean, it doesn't rly matter to me since I have it saved on my laptop, but I wanted to share the awesomeness with fandom :( ppl who have watched this performance, COME FLAIL ABOUT IT WITH ME XD YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!! This isn't what I had in mind when I talked about fic ideas in my last post, but while trying to figure those out I suddenly decided to get some practice in by writing some shorter fics first. So I got this idea to do an exercise where I write drabbles for some of my favourite songs by NEWS.

Yesterday my lj post formats kept screwing up, like half the post would suddenly turn into a textbox area T.T I have no idea why that happened, but anyway I changed my layout so I hope it doesn't happen again!

I started this lj mainly for fandom so I'll only post when I have fandom-related stuff. I expected that to be very often, but now I keep having to put off fandom-related stuff to deal with "more important" RL stuff like uni/scholarship/job applications, sigh. And now that I'm the one with the most free time on my hands in my family, I've been dumped with all the misc errands D: which I suppose is only fair cos everybody rly tried not to distract me when I was still in school.

OK, I really should be studying now but I just wanted to share my opinions of some of the songs from Color that I've heard so far.
( pretty long review hidden under cut. )

Verdict? Buy it :) Oh...I'll be travelling to Europe some time next month and I'll probably pass through Tokyo either on the way there or back. So I'm wondering if it might be significantly cheaper to buy the album there? Does anybody know? (Assuming I have time to find a cd shop in the airport and buy the album during transit though.)

Ah I'm bad with first posts.

Basically I decided to get a lj to unleash my inner NEWS fangirl :D so expect a lot of flailing about the awesomeness of NEWS (all 6 of them!) and maybe fics when I muster up the courage.
